An orthophoto is an aerial photograph which has been geo-referenced and geometrically corrected so that the orthophoto has a uniform scale and can be situated accurately on a digital map. Available for immediate download with digital licensing. The orthophoto may be used for reference purposes, but may not be distributed or republished without permission.
These orthophotos are derived from aerial photographs taken Sunday, August 11, 2013 along the Bow and Elbow Rivers. (About a month and a half after the June flood.)
Please note that these photographs do not represent the entire city of Calgary. They are limited to areas adjacent to the Bow and Elbow Rivers.
The City of Calgary Orthophotos are tiled in Alberta Township Survey (ATS) sections. The first two digits of the product’s filename represents the township number. These are followed by two digits representing the range and then a single digit representing the meridian. The final two digits following an "s" indicates the section number. (TTRRMsSS.sid)
